Lars von Trier set to direct Tatsuya Ishida screenplay
Renowned rapist, Lars von Trier, once joked in an interview that he was a Nazi when asked about the influence of German Romanticism in Melancholia; after that, everything from the Cannes Film Festival to his own nervous system decided to "unjustly" betray him. Now, with the magic of soc-dem healthcare, he's on the path to recovery and ready to return to making snooty Europeans walk out of objectively good films again.
His first film in 8 years is going to be written by Sinfest creator Tatsuya Ishida, who was able to make the change from a TERF to an actual Nazi without having to really change a single aspect of his beliefs. A Danish podcaster, Viggo Klausen-Blocken-Bracket, asked Lars Von Trier about why he would direct a script from Ishida after the Melancholia incident wasn't entirely forgotten. Lars replied,
I found great interest in a certain area of the internet comedy landscape --- it was so fascinating to me, their affinity for shock humor. I was watching a film of this frankly upsetting looking man who was talking to you, the viewer, about something you might have done, and what you might've put in your pocke--
Lars was then interrupted by the podcaster screaming
BASED!
when he recognized who he was talking about, as the guy behind the camera was spamming a soundboard's airhorns and an audio of Tom Green on the Tom Green show screaming the name of the website 4chan.
Not a lot of info has been brought up besides that podcast as Lars Von Trier now has a firsthand account of the utterly lame world of Internet-based racism, but presumably, any actor who shows up in this potential film is going to have to explain to the 70-year-old director what a foid is.
